I've happily been using Decentraleyes for a good while now. Thanks for making it!
After updating Firefox from v62 to v63, I'm experiencing frequent and complete freezes of the entire browser window. It's triggered by actions such as switching tabs, focusing input fields or scrolling (especially large pictures) and lead the main Firefox process to consume 100% CPU. The browser thaws after a few seconds, but switching to another tab and back usually triggers another freeze.
Disabling Decentraleyes instantly resolves these problems. They return after re-enabling it. This is weird, I don't think an extension should, or could, cause such issues. I suspect this to be a Firefox bug merely triggered by Decentraleyes. My intuition points at memory allocation problems, but I really don't know.

I experience this if I open a new tab through the "+" button, and then try to right click to open one of the "top sites", with decentraleyes enable this is noticeably slow :/
I have the same issue with Firefox 63.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 7.
The browser freezes for about 80 seconds (and eats 25% of CPU) when I try to load pages with many images or when I select images to upload with drag'n'drop.
Hi everyone, and many thanks for reporting your personal findings! Unfortunately, I am so far unable to reproduce the issue. Additional details (e.g. affected domains, or Linux distribution names) are welcome. Please post them here, or send an email. Thanks again!
@Synzvato Hi Thomas, I tried enabling Decentraleyes again and while the lag reported in my previous comment it is gone, I still experience a noticeable lag when I click on a pinned "top sites" tile, compared to when Decentraleyes is disabled.
I am on Lubuntu 16.04.3, FF 63.0.3 and latest version of Decentraleyes.
I would like to point out to those who mention freezes that I experienced this (and sometimes FF still hangs) that it is something since 63, so i suppose they changed something which on linux messed up a lot. I had to disable "WebExtensions now run in their own process" as with a lot of tabs I had 30% ram consumption, constantly.
Also if someone else uses noscript, I read that it can causes hangs in FF (happens on facebook even with Decentraleyes disabled), which I had never experienced before FF63...
If you know a way we can provide more informations please let us know.
Just a quick update on FF64, the freezes don't happen any more..just a weird glitch of a few milliseconds when you right click to open a "top sites" tile, which doesn't happen when decentraleyes is disabled. Anyone can test with FF64?
I'm happy to hear that upgrading to Firefox 64 addressed most of your problems, @virufukiwi! In case anyone is still experiencing freezes despite using the latest version of Firefox, please let me know if the problem persists after switching to a fresh Firefox profile.
@Synzvato Glad to see you are back! I also noticed that there is a couple of seconds of delay when you press "+"-> open new tab-> type something in the url bar. This disappears if decentraleyes is disabled. Do you have any clue of what is causing this? I suspect is something which changed on FF-side and that it conflicts with the addon :/
@Synzvato Yes, just, is there a way to do that without messing up with my regular profile?I don't want to lose every setting for a test. In the meanwhile can someone else report whether they still experience this or not?
@virufukiwi Sure! From my experience, it's quite safe to switch back and forth between different profiles.
I would, however, suggest you to make a back-up of your profile before continuing as it's always good to have one. Once that's done, you can start managing profiles by making sure Firefox is fully closed and then running firefox -P inside of your terminal.
To add to this issue as I think it's the same: I found out Decentraleyes was locking up Firefox whenever I try to upload anything.
Like uploading some images to Imgur I had to do one by one because it locks up the browser for a few seconds. And with multiple files simultaneously it locks up the browser for so long that most or sometimes all the uploads fail completely. With this add-on disabled Firefox no longer freezes when doing file uploads. (Firefox 64.0.2 btw)
Hope the freezing issue can be resolved somehow. :/
It occurs for me in Firefox 65, however when I disable µMatrix or Chamelon Dynamic Theme - all problems are gone. However, I cannot reproduce this behavior on clear Firefox profile with these addons.
Happens to me on Firefox-65.0.2/Linux.
Freeze only on first time site visit.
Happens both with and without recommended Decentraleyes rules for uBlock Origin/uMatrix.
Disabling Decentraleyes-2.0.10 fixes the issue (disabling uBlock Origin & uMatrix with enabled Decentraleyes won't fix the issue).
continue scrolling up/down page with search results using mouse wheel - usually first 3 seconds it scroll smoothly, but then next 6-10 seconds it scroll with huge freezes
I have the same issue as everyone here, especially a long freeze when FF starts up and loads my previous session, the whole app is unresponsive (Latest version, 65.0.1 / macOS 10.13.6)
I did some tests, and I narrowed it down, at least for my case: it only happens when Decentraleyes and ClearURLs are both enabled.
